In Discupost of November 2024<\/a> (Dutch edition) we informed our readers about our motives to leave X. Bluesky is less vulnerable to censorship and manipuation. This makes the platform more suitable for Discutafel than X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open source<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In contrast to X, Bluesky<\/a> is a decentralized platform. This means there’s no central authority (read: megalomaniac tech giant) who’s in control. Everyone can study the source code. This is called open source<\/em>.
We don’t know what the future brings. Bluesky might grow into something we don’t wish either. For now, we reject X and embrace Bluesky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interesting conversations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’ve been using Bluesky since November 2023. In many ways both platforms work the same. We meet more and more (Dutch) people in our domains: eco-friendly gardening, the outdoors ans sustainability. Bluesky is not profit-driven, so no ads \ud83d\ude09
