Remarkable
The Pacific rododendron (Rhododendron macrophyllum) was validly published by George Don, i.e. he was the first to publish the plant name while fulfilling the formal requirements as specified by the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN).
Read our blog on naming of plants for more info.
Brothers George and David Don, both botanists, were 19th century forefathers of the famous tv gardener Monty Don!
